Helping a Mental Wellbeing Specialist Make ACT Principles Easier to Understand

DANIEL FARMER

Anxious to Zen (Ish)

Dan Farmer is the founder of Anxious to Zen, a business dedicated to helping individuals and organisations better understand stress, anxiety and psychological flexibility through Acceptance and Commitment Training (ACT).

Like many specialists, Dan possessed valuable expertise, practical experience and a genuine desire to help people. The challenge was not a lack of knowledge. The challenge was making that expertise easier for others to experience and understand.

Before creating any content, we took time to understand who Dan is, what drives his work and how he wanted to be perceived by the people he serves.

Through conversation, it became clear that the goal was not simply to produce videos. The goal was to communicate Dan's expertise in a way that felt authentic, approachable and useful.

Together, we identified key themes that reflected both his experience and the challenges faced by his audience. These became the foundation for a series of authority-building assets designed to educate, inform and build trust.

One example explored the relationship between stress, cortisol and psychological flexibility. Rather than promoting a service, the content focused on helping people better understand a problem they were already experiencing.

By capturing and communicating a valuable ACT principle, we created a resource that allowed prospective clients to experience Dan's thinking before seeking support.

The result was not simply a piece of content.

It was an Authority Asset that demonstrated expertise through education, insight and practical value.

This approach continues to help Anxious to Zen build understanding, credibility and trust by making complex psychological concepts easier to understand and apply.
