FOREVER TOGETHER - MEMORIAL JEWELLERY

Referrals are always great, and this one was no different. Cassy is in the process of setting up her own business up called Forever Together offering memorial jewellery. Forever together have 50 different products to choose from, ranging from rings, earrings to necklaces. Each offering 20 different stone colours to choose from.
To showcase the products the Cassy needed high quality stacked photos of each product for the Forever Together website that is presently being built.
Original plan
Datrysiad Media was to undertake the photography of the 50 products. This was going to be done using stacked focusing so that we could blend multiple imagines into one final tack sharp photo. This is how we create fantastic image clarity for product photos. The next stage was to edit each of the photos and change the stone in post to represent the different options they have.
This would have resulted in 1000 photos being delivered. You might ask why not just change the colour of the stone on the website. You are correct and we did look into this, however, this works only on singular bold colours, the stones themselves are intricate and offer multiple colours and reflection. Simply slapping on a bold colour would do the product no justice.
This is why this method is used, it is a simple and true representation of the product.
However as with any business there are always challenges and Cassy needed to change supplier resulting in budget cuts.
REVISED PLAN
So how did we continue to help Cassy reach her goals of getting her product photography. We simply undertook the editing. Cassy undertook the product photography and Datrysiad Media undertook the editing aspects. This allowed Cassy to remain within her budget whilst getting the product shots she needed. This still resulted in 1000 photos being edited to include the beautiful stones Forever Together has on offer.
EDIT AND DELIVERY
Editing and colour grade was performed in Davinci Resolve
Each photo took 30 minutes to edit and incorporate all 20 stones.
The photo was edited in Fusion within Davinci Resolve, this allowed us to set up a template where we had all the settings we needed to produce the final image
The longest part of the edit was to mask out the original stone. Once this was done, adding the remainder 20 was a simpler process.
This was done in batches. As soon as Cassy had done one batch of photos and sent them to us, we returned them promptly with all the edits and reformatted to a square profile, making everything consistent.
FINAL RESULT
Take a look below at some of the example images that have been produced. They key was communication, working with Cassy was a pleasure who had a clear mindset on what she needed for her business. Datrysiad Media streamlined the process enabling us to deliver the results to Cassy needed promptly, enabling Forever Together to meet their deadline to go live with the website.
